| In the late afternoon, we went
to 2006 World Ice Art Championships, also in Fairbanks. It's one of
the largest ice sculpture shows in the world, it was pretty neat.
There was a Kids park where kids and adults alike could play. This
year's theme was the movie Ice Age. For the competitions, there are
single-block and multi-block categories. Each block is about 7' tall,
4' wide, and 4' deep (my estimates). Many teams had just begun the
multi-block sculptures, including several from China and Taiwan. For
more colorful pictures of these same sculptures, go to part C - nighttime
pictures of the Ice Art Championships. |
